There was a truck, flipped over, and the passenger cab was totally and utterly flattened. And I heard onlookers (who congregated at the gas station) say that there was someone inside it. Or was it even still someone? Maybe by that point it was already just a body.
There were people standing all around, and five or so right nearby-I think the ones nearby were from other car(s) involved in the accident, because they sure as hell weren't from the truck.
Two minutes later, the ambulance, a fire truck, and three cop cars arrived. I pulled slowly out of the gas station and drove away, thoroughly shaken. Usually I'm pretty callous about these things, but I felt sick to my stomach and trembly. Someone probably just died a few hundred feet from me, maybe while I was watching. I don't know how they could have survived.
On my way home, on the same route, I saw them load the truck onto a towtruck-by that point the body/person had been removed and it was just a completely totaled truck. I drove behind it for a while on the way home and I felt like I was seeing a ghost.
I wonder how it happened.

I need something cheerful.
